High School Passes

Grade 9 to 12 students attending public, separate and private schools or receiving a home-based education in the City of Kingston may be eligible for an annual bus pass. Please present your high-school bus pass each time your board the bus.

If you have any questions about student pass, please call us at 613-546-0000, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Grade 9 and those new-to-the-program 

We work with certain high schools in the area to offer transit training session and issue grade 9 students a bus pass.

If we do not visit your school, you missed our visit or you would like to get your pass early, you can:

    1. Download and complete the Transit Card Registration Form.
    2. Bring the following documentation to City Hall, 216 Ontario St., or the Guest Services Desk at the Cataraqui Centre, 945 Gardiners Rd.
      • Your completed Transit Card Registration Form.
      • Your current class timetable.
      • Your birth certificate or other government issued ID.

Grade 10, 11 and 12 students

If you are a returning Grade 10, 11 or 12 student with a valid pass from the previous school year, your bus pass will automatically renew. 

If you are a grade 12 student returning for an extra year of study, your pass will not automatically renew. To renew your bus pass, go to City Hall, 216 Ontario St., or the Guest Services Desk at the Cataraqui Centre, 945 Gardiners Rd., and bring the following documentation:

    • Your previous year bus pass.
    • Your current class timetable.
    • Your birth certificate of other government issued ID.

Private school and home-based education students

Private school and home-based education students must contact us to arrange their student bus pass. Call us at 613-546-4291, ext. 2365, or come to our office at 1181 John Counter Blvd. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Replacement of smart cards

If your pass was lost, stolen or broken you must:

    1. Download and complete the Transit Card Registration Form.
    2. Go to City Hall, 216 Ontario St., or the Guest Services Desk at the Cataraqui Centre, 945 Gardiners Rd., and bring the following documentation:
        • Your completed Transit Card Registration Form.
        • Your current class timetable.
        • Your birth certificate or other government issued ID.

A $3 replacement pass fee applies.
